2 IICRC CEC This eLearning course was developed to provide a high-level overview of fabric and upholstery cleaning. Narrated by industry subject matter expert and certified ISSA and IICRC instructor, this course covers how to clean and restore fabrics using a variety of methods.
This course covers the basic steps of fabric and upholstery cleaning, a trade and skill that opens a world of opportunities. Students will learn how to clean and restore fabrics using wet (water-based) cleaning, dry solvent-based cleaning, or a combination of the two methods. They will learn how to remove dry soil, pre-spray, and suspend the soil using the T. A. C. T. theory (temperature, agitation, chemistry, and time).
Students will complete the program and feel immediately empowered to clean fabric and upholstery. They will learn, step by step, how to complete fiber ID, pre-inspections, clean and extract, groom and apply fabric sealers. They will know the difference between wet and dry cleaning, including what kind of PPE is necessary.
